Datrium Story

I started this blog because a friend said it would be a good idea. I had no idea what to write about! They say write what you know. I'm a system admin in charge of servers, storage, virtualization and much more. One of the projects on my plate right now is to replace the storage system I manage. Therefore, here is my story of the system I'm replacing.

This has become a multipart story. When I started this was going to be a couple pages of how cool the system is and why my colleagues and I don't want to see it go. However the story evolved as it came out and in this story I rambled on about why we needed a change from the norm, why we chose the Datrium DVX solution in the first place and describe its features and functionality. Eventually I will finish this series with a few stories of trouble and strife. I may end on the beginning of the search for the next solution, or may even start a new story.

Just a little disclaimer here, this is all my own experience and the details in this story are the to the best of my recollection. I'm telling the story of my experiences both good and not so good aspects. I'm trying to be fair in my assessment of the gear and the company based on my experiences.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my experiences. This blog is still new and I'm working on getting more content, but writing takes a lot more time than I was expecting. PLEASE bare with me as I continue to share my experiences. I'm working on another set of posts about PowerShell and how I use it to solve certain types of problems.
